White papers, case studies, and blog posts don’t exist in silos; they belong to comprehensive content marketing strategies. But with the landscape shifting so rapidly, it can be difficult to know where to begin, or what to do with content once you have it.Fortunately, several experts on content marketing strategy offer podcasts to provide ideas if you’re new to content marketing (or even if you’re a seasoned veteran looking for new ways to use a white paper).  I’m a big fan of podcasts (I even appeared on one recently, the Smarter Freelancing podcast, sounding like an overcaffeinated California refugee, which I suppose I am). After all, as busy content marketers, we don’t always have time to sit and read a newsletter, but we can load a podcast onto our phones before we take off for a run or handle that massive weed problem in the garden. Here are my top two podcast picks, perfect for a longer drive or morning runs:

PNR with This Old Marketing Podcast. I’ve had the pleasure of hearing Joe Pulizzi and Robert Rose speak in person, and both of them are excellent content marketing strategists. This Old Marketing Podcast, which runs less than 60 minutes (perfect for a long, leisurely Saturday morning run), covers trends in content marketing and provides ways to learn even from older content marketing strategies.

Marketing Smarts Podcast. Created by MarketingProfs, which puts on an excellent content marketing event in Boston every fall, the Marketing Smarts Podcast covers a variety of topics that relate to today’s marketing landscape. At 30 minutes, it’s perfect for listening to during shorter midweek runs or while tackling chores.

If you’re looking to boost your content marketing knowledge, subscribe in iTunes or your preferred podcast listener. I’ve found these ones are really helpful when I advise clients new to the world of content marketing, and they also help me understand the overall strategy that my clients have painstakingly crafted.
